Susan Jentzsch, the owner of Moda by Sofia, is following her dreams and encouraging those of others, including her own daughter.

In May 2009, Susan, a longtime Jazzercise instructor, unveiled her new clothing line, Moda by Sofia. (“Moda” is Spanish for fashion.) Her first showing was at a Jazzercise convention in Palm Springs in June 2009.

Named after her 8-year-old daughter, Gabriela Sofia, a third-grade student, the clothing line is a unique fashion venture. Moda by Sofia offer active wear apparel, such as tee shirts, hoodies, long-sleeve tees, tank tops and yoga wear which they pair up with embellishments such as crowns, hearts and flowers that are applied to the fabric. Another benefit of Moda by Sofia is the personal attachment the customer feels to the clothing. “You take ownership of what you design,” Susan says. The final product is an affordable, custom, look.

Moda by Sofia has fun accommodating customers who want to custom design their own clothes. You can get as creative or simple as you want to get. Everything is so cute and fits women and girls of all sizes. With an emphasis on comfort and fit, the clothing line is geared for women of every body type, not just the “stick skinny” frame many designers exclusively target. In fact, Susan’s desire to encourage self-esteem and a healthy body image for girls is at the core of Moda by Sofia.

Tied in with the clothing line are Moda Walk Parties, fullservice, all-inclusive birthday parties that Moda by Sofia hosts. At the Moda Walk Parties, guests get the chance to custom design their own Moda by Sofia clothing, have their hair and makeup professionally done, and then model their creations, and themselves, down the runway as a professional photographer and videographer capture the event. You get to be proud of who you are and showcase yourself.
